I started my career as a part-time Wealth Solutions Consultant during my time in National University of Singapore. I was approached by my senior from my secondary school and it seemed a good idea since I wanted to learn more about financial planning for myself.

Eventually, I found that I enjoyed the job, even though I was only doing it part-time. It suits my personality; I like talking and connecting with people and at the same time, it allows me to have freedom and flexibility.

A week after my final paper, I voluntarily informed my manager that I wanted to turn full time immediately after my graduation. From there, I started my journey in 1989.

I decided to move into management role in 1995 after 6 years of being a Wealth Solutions Consultant, to learn the ropes of mentorship, to groom and develop a team with the right values. But because, I am still very much enjoy serving my clients, so I never stop doing financial planning services as well.

I feel my career is particularly meaningful as I help people protect what is important to them and grow what they have.

This is my first job and I believe, it will also be my last.

When I am not working, I try to be active in Chinese Drama scene. Since my secondary school days, my passion has been in Chinese Drama. I do acting and directing work during my university time. I no longer do so nowadays but I am still enjoy watching drama performance. Currently, I support the drama group activities, sit on their panel of Board of Directors and help manage the drama group as well.

I like to exercise. I visit the gym twice per week, not too much so I don’t get myself too muscular, but just to relax and keep healthy. Especially when I feel slightly lethargic, it brings up my energy level after a quick run. Doing this means I can continue my love for eating, my favourite past time, just like any Singaporean.
